Last year, Google removed the ability to seek video by tapping the progress bar on YouTube video, which many users complained about.
However, as an alternative to this, Google has taken steps to provide video search capability through a tapping gesture, and it is reported that Google is currently working on introducing a new gesture to search the video.
Currently, when watching a YouTube video on your Android or iOS device, you can search for the video by tapping the left or right side of the screen twice or more, or dragging the progress bar.
This new gesture allows users to search for the video by tapping and holding it on the screen and swiping left or right.
This gesture is provided as a server-side update for a select few users using the Android v16.31.34 beta YouTube app and is expected to be available to all users in the future.
